A massive earthquake of 8.9 magnitude hit the Pacific Ocean, near Northeastern Japan on Friday, 11th of March, 2011. The earthquake triggered a massive tsunami which reached 10km inland, carrying houses, buildings, boats and cars with it. Additionally, a state of emergency has been declared at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, where scientists and technicians are struggling to prevent a nuclear disaster. Thousands have been declared dead and thousands are left with no electricity and fresh water.
